Addiction Recovery

An Invitation to Recovery and Empowered Wholeness

  • Do you desire to be free from an addiction?
  • Would you like to feel powerful and in control?
  • Are you willing to re-think and re-understand your relationship to yourself, others, and (if you are spiritual/religious) God?
  • Would you prefer not to take a month off of work to go to rehabilitation, and would you prefer to spend only a fraction of the amount required for many basic rehabilitation centers?
  • Are you willing to experience and learn how to create positive states within yourself that will exceed the satisfaction of your addiction behavior?
  • Would you like to respect yourself again and experience your addiction as something in the past?
  • Would you like to experience a process that is actually enjoyable and inspiring?

If you answer “yes” to these questions, I invite you to consider investing in a program of recovery and personal transcendence which utilizes the insights of the latest research in brain science, engages a relaxed process in which you will be guided in using your mind to make changes in the neural pathways of your brain, draws upon your deepest spiritual values and resources, and helps you to begin experiencing your future healthy and addiction free self, even while you are in the process of recovery.

Seven Key Elements to Recovery and Empowered Wholeness

  1. Desire to be free of the addiction/dysfunctional behavior.
  2. Discover the precipitating cause of the addiction.
  3. Begin to experience now, as one would a memory, a satisfactory future life.
  4. Begin to experience now, as one would a memory, an empowered future self.
  5. Recognize and defuse self-sabotaging behavior.
  6. Disable old triggers for past behaviors while establishing anchors for new behaviors.
  7. Learn new, reinforcing, encouraging, and empowering ways to talk to yourself.

A Description of the Process

Here is a description of the month-long process which I offer:

  • An initial meeting is scheduled to clarify the process.
  • An extensive data gathering session follows the initial meeting. This may take up to three hours.
  • Three sessions per week for four weeks are scheduled before the first counseling session takes place.
  • CDs designed to reinforce the work in session are provided throughout the month.
  • Between sessions, I will be available for brief phone consultations if necessary—responding at my earliest opportunity to any messages, usually within three hours and often sooner.
  • Please read The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure by Chris Prentice. This book describes the philosophy and approach utilized in this recovery process. All potential clients are encouraged to read and follow the direction in this book in preparation for our work together.

Please note: 1) Alcoholic/addictive behavior is an unsatisfactory attempt to achieve legitimate ends. This process establishes new self-understanding and new behavior that actually achieves the desired outcome. 2) Medical monitoring may be required during alcohol or barbiturate withdrawal. Physician approval or proof of medical monitoring may be required of persons whose substance use includes alcohol or barbiturates. 3)  If you do desire inpatient treatment at a licensed facility, I would encourage you to consider the following outstanding program. In San Diego, California— Reunion; in Los Angeles, California— Passages of Malibu.

Follow-Up Sessions

At the conclusion of the month, we will schedule one follow-up session per week for four weeks. After this, you may want to have an occasional “tune-up” at your discretion. My goal for each client is not to keep them coming back . My goal is to equip my clients to confidently imagine, creatively engage, and most fully realize an unfolding, sober, bright, and amazing future.

If this process feels right, sounds good, and offers a vision that you can endorse, please call me today to schedule an appointment to commit to your recovery, healing, and growing wholeness.
